Botmaster Arrested for Kimwolf DDoS Attacks

Canadian authorities have arrested a 23-year-old man in Ottawa on suspicion of operating the Kimwolf botnet, which was used in massive DDoS attacks against millions of devices over six months. The suspect, identified as ‘Dort’ by KrebsOnSecurity after he launched cyber campaigns against an author and security researcher, now faces criminal hacking charges in both Canada and the United States. He was arrested on Wednesday by Canadian authorities following a public naming by KrebsOnSecurity in February 2026.
